England Under-21s boss Lee Carsley has said he is pleased with his performances in charge of the Three Lions senior side over the past five months and is confident the side can go even further with their young players.

Carsley, whose final game in charge was a 5-0 Nations League thrashing of Ireland on Sunday, said: “I feel like I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone but it’s not beyond my capabilities.”

“I never felt like I was drowning or struggling. I had confidence in myself and the team that we would be okay. And I think we got stronger as the national tournament went on. สมัคร ufabet You always learn a lot about yourself when you’re in an unfamiliar or different position. I think the most satisfying thing is that we have young players coming through the team. It’s a new bloodline.”

“We tried to change things, we tried to adapt and move forward, with a new style, a new way of playing, controlling the game, the percentage of possession we had on the pitch and the number of chances we created.”

Carsley, who has won five of his six games in charge of England, will return to work with the Under-21s and German coach Thomas Tuchel will take over on January 1, 2025.
